clear old items in pivot

How can I clear old items from a pivot table. I am running
excel 2000. When I bring in new data and refresh the table
I am seeing the new and the old data. Ideas?
 
I tried that and it worked. I get another problem
downstrem. When I refresh the pivot table all the drop
down arrows on the page by fields disappear and cannot be
added in. Any ideas?
