In Outlook if you fill in an e-mail address to someone and
it's wrong, then you fill it in, in another e-mail address
the correct way (avoiding entering them in the Contacts)
the right and wrong e-mail address appears when you start
addressing a message.

I want to be able to clear this database or "collector"
how is that done?

In the short term I turned off that functionality in the
Tools E-mail Advanced options, but I can't find out how to
delete it.

Is there a .PST file I can manual delete to start that
QuickFil database file all over again?

Thanks!
J

If you want to delete the entire cache, look for a file with the extension
of .NK2 on your hard drive. If you just want to delete the errant entry,
as you start to type the name and the drop down box appears with both the
right and wrong name, use the arrow keys on the keyboard to select the
wrong name and then click the delete keyon the keyboard.

You may also purchase a utility that will provide complete editing
capabilities of the NK2 (autocomplete) file. It can be found at
www.dcs-imaging.com/products.htm. It is called Owtlook.

You can download the demo version to look inside of this file and see up to
1000 entries that may be in the cache. If you have only one or two "problem
entries", then just delete them as instructed. However, if you have many
entries, sometimes created by external anti-spam utilities, you may want to
purchase the above utility and "clean them all out". Depending on your use
of Outlook, you may find other uses for "mining the information in your
autocomplete cache" and putting that information into your contact
folder(s).
