Cleanup Startup File

G

I am using MSCONFIG to track down a driver problem on my
PC that is running WIN XP Home edition. I have found a
combination of programs in the STARTUP tab in MSCONFIG
that has isolated the problem. I would now like to delete
any entries listed in the STARTUP tab that are no longer
needed. Where can I find the startup configuration file,
(or is it an "INI" file) that has the entries that I want
removed from the tab?

You have to look in the Registry for them. Start>Run type: regedit
Navigate to
Hkey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run, Run
once, etc. In the rt pane
you will see those entries. You can delete them. Also, check in
Hkey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run
If there delete them.
