Cleaning up win2k

Having installed and uninstalled many software packages I now
have to choose between doing a major cleanup, or yes, a format.
I am reluctant to do the latter, so I need advice on how best to
do the cleanup. Specifically, I am looking for an application
that would identify unused dll etc. (preferably freeware) and be
able to remove such.

Appreciate any pointers and help..
