Cleaning My Data Form Import

I need to import data into excel, but I need to clean that data so tha
it is not misinterpreted by excel. I.e. data starting with a dash - o
equal = tries to be a formula instead of data.

Is there a list of keywords to be avoided or a list of escape sequence
for cleaning my data?

On the third page of the Import Text wizard, you have the option of defining
the data type for each column. If you mark those columns as text, they
should import as text, instead of numbers or formulas.
