I can open IE and delete temporary internet files (and all offline content)
do a search for *.jpg and lots show up in temporary internet files!
run disk clean up and again select to remove temporary internet files.
again, do a search for *.jpg and lots show up in temporary internet files!

So, in the world of Microsoft what exactly does on ehave to do to actually
delete these files?

If you are on Broadband, you might want to use the Advanced option
to "Empty Temporary Internet Files Folder when Browser is Closed".
IE, Tools, Internet Options, Advanced - Scroll down to locate option.

The delete TIF is profile specific. Are you sure when you search that
the content is not from another profile on your PC ?

TIF is one of those folders that can look different
from what it really is- cookies in TIF I think are
actually pointers to cookies @ C:\Documents and
Settings\User\Cookies. I definitely got the impression
that you had to have and advanced degree in fuzzy logic
in order to understand anything to do with TIF:)

I am on Roadrunner and download about 300KB/sec so I
set my cache size to 1MB which also avoids certain
problems when saving files- Internet Explorer sometimes
uses files in a cache that will not be there when you
look at the same file a week later. so I just let it
clean itself.

Just my 2¢ worth- Larry

Any advise is my attempt to contribute more than I have received but I can only assure you that it works on my PC. GOOD LUCK.

Are you running AIM (AOL Instant Messenger stand-alone client)?

It caches some of its stuff in the IE cache folder, but it doesn't do it
in the same way that IE does it (AIM bypasses the index.dat bookeeping
mechanism), so when IE wipes its cache it leaves behind the AIM stuff.
That's why IE doesn't appear to completely empty the folder(s).

[these aim files are usually .js and .css files, not .jpg as you have
indicated. Perhaps there is another app doing a similar thing...]

the only way to cpmpletely wipe the Temp Internet Files folder is to log
onto a different Administrator-privledged account, go into the user's
profile folder and trash it there. when that user logs back on it will
remake the folder.

Nope & I doubt it can get anywhere near my speed.

yes, only one profile on this machine
