I just built a new computer and installed XP pro onto it. Everything was
working perfectly until I used a USB connector to attach my laptop harddrive
to it in order to transfer files. An error came up warning me about some
changed Registry problem but it always restarted faster than I could read the
whole thing. It restarted every time i turned it on so I figured my best bet
was to start over from scratch.
First I used the Windows Repair function from the Windows XP Setup (when
booting from the CD). I formatted the harddrive in NTSC format. Then I went
ahead and tried to install XP again as if there was nothing on the harddrive.
However, now when I go through the setup installation, it formats the
harddrive but then displays errors of numerous .dll files that could not be
setup correctly. It then asks to skip those files and continues, or quit
setup. Are there any suggestions on how to fix this so that I can install XP
again without problems? Does it help to hook up the harddrive in the newly
built computer to an older computer and format it that way? Any help would
be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike
