Classic menu issue

OK, I understand the desire to drive people to the Ribbon. That being said,
why not allow the native use of the classic menus without forcing a user to
pay for a third party hack.

My reasoning.... One client, completely blind using JAWSs and Word 2003.
Normal hotkeys that have worked for years work on 2003. I had to set him up
a secondary computer but was unable to purchase a copy of Word 2003... ended
up stuck with 2007. Is there any easy way to set the old hotkeys layout to
exactly match? I mean Alt+I, Alt+O etc...

Remember - a screen reader READS what is displayed. If you add new layouts,
that is what is read to the blind user to give him cues and control over the
computer.

And yes -- I did try Patrick Schmid's program. It actually would solve the
majority of the problem for a sighted user. My problem is with total
keyboard control and auditory feedback. Actually I am going to check with
Freedom Scientific (the makers of JAWS), maybe they have scripted their
product to get around the enforced issued from MS.

You can still use the old hotkeys in Word 2007. I believe there is an option
that must be set to permit this, and it isn't 100% perfect, but it mostly
works.
