Clarity, please: Vista, Outlook 2003, and free pre-existing Hotmai

I've read so many differing statements regarding whether Outlook 2003, Vista,
and free Hotmail can work together. Either they can or cannot. Please,
MVPs, clarify. My new Vista system is fantastic, and it and my Office 2003
cost a bunch. Then I'm told I cannot use Outlook 2003 with my old Hotmail
account, and then I'm also told that I can. Please, what's the real deal?
And pass the double gin tonic!

I'm not an MVP, but to the best of my knowledge you can't use Outlook, or
any stand-alone mail reader except Live Mail Desktop to access a hotmail
account since hotmail is ad-driven.

HOWEVER, if you subscribe to Hotmail, (pay for it) you can use just about
any mail reader to access hotmail, if memory serves.

Thanks for the info, Mic. I guess I'll just have to use the HTTP method,
which isn't too bad.

The answer is it depends I can access my Hotmail in Outlook, using the
office connector...
but I know it depends when your account was created.
