cisvc.exe running at 100% on laptop

Hello All,

For some reason, when I run my laptop on batteries only, cisvc.exe
spikes to 100% and NEVER goes back down.

This occurs after about 3 minutes of running windows.

As you can imagine, this EATS up my charge and my laptop battery hardly
lasts at all.

What's going on? Why does cisvc.exe run at 100%?

Here is what I have:

HP Pavilion ze4600
AMD Athlon XP-M 2500
768 MB RAM
Windows XP Professional

Disable the "indexing service" in admin tools>services.
