circular reference error

Circular reference error received when workbook is opened.
I am unable to locate cell with the error. Workbook has 8
spreadsheets, I have checked each sheet. The circular
error box has no cells identified. I have used the
toolbar to check formula errors and found none. Any
suggestions as to how to find the cell which is causing
this error response each time I open the workbook?
 
In the status bar, at the bottom of the Excel window, you should see the
word 'Circular'.

When you select the sheet with the circular reference, it should show
the cell with the problem, e.g. Circular: C1
