Circular reference error - where ?

I have a spreadsheet giving me a circular reference error.
From the circular reference toolbar, only 1 cell is
displayed, but clicking on it does nothing. When I
navigate to the cell that I 'think' it's referring to,
it's blank. Is there another way I can find the cell that
is causing the problem ? Same error occurs in Excel 2000
or 2002

Hi Lynn,

You have to do a bit of detective work. Get rid of the various terms in the
cell in question until your problem disappears.

For example, if A20 had a formula

=A1+B1+C1+D1*E1/F1....

You should try getting rid of A1. Does that help? If not, put A1 back and
try B1....and so on.

Usually once you find your error, you say to yourself, "oh, of course" but
it can be a bit of a challenge.

If you have problems finding your circular error, come back and post a
message. Or alternatively you can send me your spreadsheet and I will help
you find it. My address is my last name at ya and hoo combined and you know
the rest. I am being deliberately cryptic, but I trust you can figure it
out. If you do send me your spreadsheet, please post a message here so I
know to look for it.

Regards,
Kevin

Lynn,

I found your problem and spreadsheet will be returned very soon as soon as I
document the problem for you.

Kevin
