Every time I go to shut down Win XP, I get an error
message indicating that "CiceroUlWndFrame" is not
responding. This has just started happening recently,
and, strangely enough, is happening on more than one
computer I own. The only thing I have been able to find
is a reference to "Cicero Unaware Application Support
(CUAS)" which is a feature of Microsoft Windows XP.

I am thinking that a possible Windows Update may have
started causing this problem. I've seen similar posts on
other forums about people having this same problem and
not knowing what is causing it. Any suggestions as to
the cause of the problem and a possible solution?

This error is caused by the "Speech and Handwriting Recognition" feature
of MS Office. You can turn this feature off by going to the Add/Remove
Programs applet in Control Panel. Click on the entry for MS Office and
then on "Change". Browse to "Office Shared Features," "Alternative User
Input," and make Speech and Handwriting Recognition (both) "Not
available" from the drop-down box.

the fix you supply with the speech and handwriting being turned off does not fix the problem.
