CHKDSK - what happened?

Thanks in advance for any info!
My computer locked up using a high-demand program, so I had to use the power
button to shutdown. On restart, it ran CHKDSK automaticaly, finding no
errors.

The problem is that it runs it every time now on powerup. Also, I have 2
monitors connected (for video card reasons, although I only use one), monitor
1 shuts off after bootup, and monitor 2 turns on at the log in screen. But
now monitor 1 runs the CHKDSK and stays on afterwards, even while I'm using
monitor 2.

Although it may not solve the CHKDSK issue, I could set monitor 2 as the
default if I knew how.

Any ideas?

Thank you for the reply!
That link addresses issues with a scanner or recovering lost data - neither
of which apply to me.

run sfc /scannow
Corrupted files seem to be the problem. You may even have to do a
repair of the video drivers.
