had a look at this before, followed the links to recover from corrupted
registry but cant do this as I dont have the Windows XP CD, I only have
a
Recovery CD I was given with the PC.

Click start/run and type cmd, then click ok. From the prompt, run
'chkntfs
/d' to clear the dirty bit that causes the disk checker to run.

Every time I turn on my PC chkdsk starts up saying that my
partition
F:/
is
dirty, Its run several times and I have no idea what started it.
I've
tried
the instructions in Kellys Korner but had no luck, any ideas?
