chinese excel

i recieved an excel file that is in chinese. when i open the file i recieve
an error that says "file error:data may have been lost". then the characters
are displayed in jiberish.

i have installed support for east asian fonts, & previously i have been able
to open excel sheets that are japanese.

does anyone know how to open an xls that is in chinese?
 
Opening an excel file in another language should not be any different from
opening one in English. From the error message it looks like the file might
be corrupt. Perhaps ask the owner of the file to check it and give you
another copy?
