childomain changing ip

one of our childomains will change its ips, what is needed to make the root
and other childomains to be aware of the new ip.?

this is a windows2000AD domain 1 forets, 1tree, multiple childomains.

The main thing is to get the DNS servers right.
And Sites and Services: Site/Subnets corrected

If any DNS servers change IPs, then all the "clients"
must follow (true for WINS also but that's not a
forest issue.)

All clients -- DCs are clients too -- must adjust NIC
properties to the new DNS servers.

You'll need to restart Netlogon on all the changing
DCs or reboot them.
