I originally had the message "file XXXX is corrupt run
chkdsk to repair".I scheduled chkdsk to run at the next
startup but it didn't run. Now when I try to defragment
the drive the message "Cannot defragment because chkdsk
is scheduled to run.please run chkdsk /f".After reading
some of the knowledge base articles I went into the
registry editor and changed the HKEY_LOCAL
MACHINE/SYSTEM/CURRENT CONTROL SET/SESSION
MANAGER/BOOTEXECUTE to "autocheck autochk *" as
recommended, but after restart it still will not
defragment, with the same message.
Windows XP Home,NTFS file syst.
Thanks,Dave

.
After reading a few more of the other replies I tried
uninstalling Zone Alarm, and that fixed it! I guess I'll
try an earlier version until they come up with a fix.
