Checkpoint normal

Have just noticed my system restore is now showing system checkpoint again
as it always did before WD came along. Was getting WD checkpoints every time
I boot up, which could sometimes be 2 or 3 times a day. Will now wait and
see if system checkpoint carries on just one a day like it used to. Didn't
get the WD checkpoint when I booted up at 8.30am, but system checkpoint at
13.20. Has anyone else noticed this on there pc.

Spoke too soon. Had a WD checkpoint this morning on start up. Didn't get one
yesterday, which is strange, just the system checkpoint at 13.20 which I
havn't had since WD started. Thought for a minute there that MS had it
sorted.

Trish,

I am hazarding a guess that the "system" checkpoint was created as a result
of Defender NOT making one that day (24hrs give or take). This is perfectly
normal.
As long as Defender triggers a Restore Point on every (or most) reboots you
will not see "system" checkpoints.

Why did Defender "skip" a day? Don't know. I would not worry about it
though.
As long as you are happy (content, accepting) with Defender normally
triggering a restore point on reboot you should be fine.

It's those of us who do not want Defender making restore points that are
most concerned with this issue.
