security settings ? browser security settings or system security ? security
is more for practice rather just settigns and expecting to be secure.

for system: windows security center will alert you if ur antivirus or
firewall are off or requires updates keep your autoupdates enabled and keep
ur system up to date use a good antivirus, antispyware & firewall (inc. in
sp2)
www.windowsonecare.com (ms antivirus)
www.freeav.com (avera antivir)
www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx (windows
defender)

for browser: donot accept unsigned activx components on webpages dont
install just any browser helper object if u want to use tools bars install
msn or google. check internet options > security default level and custom
level for more security. use an antipishing addin to alert u if u are
browsing any spoofed site (present in msn adins) i think this shd keep ur
system with good protection.

Hope this helps...,

Windows OneCare is a piece of junk and not worth paying for!!!! (No offense)
It has the lowest detection rating out of just about every anti-virus
product in the world. Windows Defender is ok but no where near good enough
to protect your PC on its own. For detailed instructions on how to secure
your PC visit the Safety Tips page on my website: www.stopmalware.tk
