yes, if:
1. your work network allows you to connect out to whichever you use at
bellsouth: pop3, imap, and/or smtp
2. your boss doesn't catch you
3. bellsouth allows you to login from outside their network to receive mail
4. bellsouth allows you to login from outside their network to send mail.
this one is the hardest, many isp's only allow access to their smtp server
to send mail from within their network to prevent open relay spammers from
using it.
it is often better to see if bellsouth has a webmail interface that lets you
receive and send mail from a web browser. these are not always the
friendliest interfaces, but do let you keep in touch for those horrible 8
hours away from your home computer each day... how did we ever live without
email????
