Checkboxes

I want to be able to use a checkbox and if the box is checked have a
value appear. For example.

My number is in Cell A1.
My checkbox will be located in Cell B1.
If the box is checked, I would like the value of Cell A1 to appear in
Cell C1. If the box is not checked, no value should appear (or a
value of zero).

Can anyone help me figure this out.

have you tried my suggestion? If yes, what is not correct with that way
so we can give you a better solution

Thank you for the suggestion. It worked like a charm (and to think it
was so simple). I was on the right track with what I was trying but got
so frustrated when I could not get it to work quite right, that I
decided to post my question for others to help with. (As for the
multiple questions, my computer kept locking up and I was not sure if
the question actually posted).
