Checkbook Register - Need Help

Thanks for reading my post.

I have a need to to build a checkbook register so that I can track a
department budget.

I have accomplished the portion that adds and subtracts on a single record
line BUT...I cannot get the next record to look back a the last records
ending balance so that it starts the new record with the ending balance of
the last entry.

Any help would be appreciated.

TIA,

The hard part is determining what was the "Last" record. If you can specify
that, then you can do the math.

Problem with checkbooks is that you might have an ATM transaction and a
check clear on same day, so which one gets which balance?

You can show the info very easily in a report. Set the Running Sum property
of the text box to Yes.

Hi Steve,
Thank you very much for the help.

my environment will allow for me to control which entries go in at what time
and all will be checks cut from our AP dept. I just need a way to make my
current record balance usable to the next entry so the math can be done.

Would you (or anyone) might know of a resource that could show me how to do
this OR do you suggest simply using the report.

Thanks,
Jcrowe
