check printing software

Forgive me is this is a duplicate. I tried to post this request an hour or
two ago, but I am not finding. So here goes again:

Does anybody have any suggestions for software which will enable me to print
personal checks on a HP LaserJet 4? I am operating a fairly high powered
clone, with XP home, 110 gig hard drive, 2.4 Pentium Processor and 512 RAM

Thank you for your help.

From My Desktop1 page.
Check Printer: Print checks from your checkbook. Support for wide range of
printers and checkbook check layouts thru 'layout editor'. Predefined
layout included (HP LaserJet). Note: Only standard checkbook checks are
supported (6 x 2.75). New in this version: automated install, scanned
signature support, status bar help, void check printing, main dialog colors
and additional text printing. ~2.9Mb

Also repeating myself with a tip I discovered.

My HP LaserJet will only squeeze down to 3 inches and most checks are 2.75
inch.

I use a pair of pliers and remove the staples in the bound booklets of
checks leaving the perforated top on. That makes them 3 inches and they
print just fine. After printing, remove the perforations if you want to, I
never do.
