The presence of bullet holes might be a bit of a giveaway.

Without more information it is difficult to be more helpful. Which bit of
your hardware do you think you have problems with?

I take that to mean that once you restored your computer using the
factory restore disk, you are still having your problems.

Checking for "hardware damage" isn't a simple task. It often involves
replacing system components one by one until the problem goes away.

you might try asking the folks in the hardware group for help:

microsoft.public.windowsxp.hardware

I just replied to your first posting. Try to keep a single question to
a single thread. you already gave more info in the first post, why give
less in a second. I sometimes turns people off and they tend to
ignore you a bit more. And you don't want that.
