Check field data type in a dataset table? Pls help!

Hi, how can I check the field data type of a column in a Dataset table? Like
whether it is a DateTime, a Binary or Character.

Please help. Thanks.

s = ods.Tables(0).Rows(i)("eventcd").GetType.ToString

MessageBox.Show(s)
