Check Disk keeps re-booting my computer and starts the scan over and over again

Hello, I hope someone could help me with a problem I am having. After
installing a New Hard Drive to my computer and Re-installing Windows XP Home
and then Installing the Service Pack 2 upgrade, when I go to do a manual
start of Check Disk on re-boot, it scans then proceeds to re-boot my
computer and starts doing the Check Disk test all over again. If I don't
press a key to stop it, when given the chance to, the check disk cycle will
keep repeating itself over and over again. I bought my new hard drive on
September 15, 2005 and it's only 4 days old. I would appreciate any imput
you may have on this subject.

Hello and many thanks to the people who tried to help me with my computer
"issue." I took your advice Mr. Ziegler and went to the support link you
gave to me and followed all the procedures to the letter. Eventually I found
out my Master Boot File was corrupted and could not be repaired. I believe I
know how it happened, but I am not placing the total blame on a certain
piece of software which suggested that I run a "Boot Defrag" of my MFT files
after padding the Paging files by this program, also suggested and
automatically carried out by this same software. Needless to say, I have no
intentions of using a 3rd party software to defragment XP anymore. I will
use the installed XP Home Defragment Utility. I resolved my "issue" by
Writing Zeroes to my New Hard Drive and starting over completely Fresh.

Once again, thank you very much......
