Cheap Floppy Drive

S

Steve Johnson

I have built a couple of systems recently but just skipped getting a floppy
drive. However, I now find that I need one on occasion (i.e. for some
mobo's there is NO way to upgrade BIOS without a floppy).

Any el cheapos out there on the net?

Thanks.

You can upgrade the BIOS from a CDR disk.I make some for people just
for this(free).
It's not that hard if you have a system with a floppy disk drive then
you can take the Cdrom disk wherever it's needed :p

You can upgrade a BIOS from a hard drive if you have DOS installed.

Most any store sells them for under $10. You'll pay almost as much in
shipping if you go to the Net.

Have a nice one...

Although I refuse to do business through Price "Bait and Switch" Watch, the lowest
price I saw there was $6.00 for both the item and shipping. In any case, there is
*no* excuse for everyone who owns a computer to not have a FDD.

I have an excuse...I don't use floppies. Ever. I either use CDs or my memory
stick.

My excuse -- I own an iMac.

Saw one the other day at CompUSA at $14.99.
Not the cheapest but right here right now if that counts.
FWIW
YMMV
