Charting dates

I would like to display the dates I have entered in two columns as a graphical representation each month. (bar chart etc) Could someone help? Specifically, I have two columns, one for start date and one for end date. I would like a colored bar for each entry from start to end so I can look at the month and see conflicts graphically
