Chart with different Y axis ranges

D

Derrick

This may be kind of confusing because I'm not sure if I
can explain this properly.

I'm trying to work out a bar chart that compares 2-3 key
factors of one product between 2002 and 2003.

The first 2 bars compare avg selling price for the
product. The range for the selling price is usually less
than $10. The next 2 bars compare volume sold, and the
range is about 1000 units. I try to do a sketch below.
Hope it turns out right.

1000
__
5.3 | |800
__ | |__
| |4.2 | | |
| |__ | | |
| | | | | |
| | | | | |
|02|03| |02|03|
---------------------
avg price volume

I also want the value to be displayed at the top of the
chart.

Thanks.

Arrange your data like this:

A B A B
Price 5.3 4.2
Volume 1000 800

Select the data and create a clustered column chart. In step 2 of the wizard, choose
series in columns. In step 3, click on the Data Labels tab, and choose values.
Finish the wizard.

Double click on one of the oversized columns, click on the Axis tab, and select
Secondary. Press OK, select the other oversized column, and click on the F4 key to
repeat.

Now just format both As and both Bs to resemble each other.
