Characters 'IB' print to upper left corner

Occasionally when I print a standard Word document the characters 'IB' are
the only thing that prints to the page(s). Rebooting sometimes clears the
problem but sometimes not. Why does this happen?
WinXP Pro sp2, Office 2K, Network printer.

The printer was unable to decode the print stream.

That could mean it is out of memory (the printer, not your computer), or
that you are using the wrong driver for the printer, or that the print
server (on the network) is in trouble.

Ask you system administrator to enable PostScript errors on the printer and
you'll get a better idea of what is wrong.
