@ character

Does the @ character hold any functional significance in Excel? I can'
seem to enter any @text. It returns that the function is invalid.
came acrozz a file that already had cells with @text but I can't see
to use the find.replace function on those.
Help, please.

Lotus used the @ as a start for functions and Excel has it for
compatibility. If you precede with a single apostrophe (') all will be
well. (The apostrophe won't show)
