HI I'M DAVE
Can anybody shed any light on my problem? I cant locate the
character map in vista. All the help pages i've visited say go to "Systems
Tools" in "Accessories" The trouble is i dont have a "Systems Tools" in my
"Accessories"
Anybody help! Many thanks DAVE

Character Map is located in C:\Windows\System32 as 'charmap.exe'. You can
just make a shortcut to it if you like.

Thanks MAX
I hate to say it but i'm not the brightest bulb in the
light shop! How do i create the shortcut? REGARDS D LANE

Strange, Charactor Map is in my System Tools, since its missing, I would
copy it from the System 32 to location back to System Tools located in:

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\System
Tools

THANKS ANDRE

open the start menu and in the search line, type: map

Thats strange, there should be a System Tools, not matter the edition or
local. Try doing a System Repair with your Windows Vista installation disk.

Boot from your Windows
Vista DVD, select the System Repair Option > on the setup screen, select
'Repair Computer > Select your installation of Windows > select Startup
Repair option and follow instructions.

Click "Start", type "Character Map", press, "Enter"

System Tools should be located near the bottom of the Accessories list. The
"Start" menu shows shortcuts, top justified, then the folders at the bottom
of the list.
