Changing workgroups

I have two workgroups, each containing mutiple PCs. I switch a PC to the other workgroup but the PC remains in both the original and newly assigned groups. The PC is accessible from both workgroup definitions. How do I remove the PC from the original workgroup?

Any help is appreciated.

the original workgroup name may stay there for a while (24 hours?). But what
you should do is remove the user name form other computers on the original
workgroup.
