changing time to a number

Could someone kindly please help me to figure the following

If cell A2 appears a time 4:00(which is actually the difference between two
times) I would like B2 show the number 4. In the same manner if A2 show 4:30
then B2 should show the number 4.5
 
=(A2-INT(A2))*24

Although you're unlikely to see this, follow up in an Excel group. This is
for FrontPage.
