We are currently running windows xp at work and have changed the "my
documents" for each user to point to there own private network areas (mapped
as j:\).

I have tried doing this with Vista however it says that Documents location
is J:\ however it is fact pointing to c:\users\persons_username\documents

When trying to change this in the registry, it then stops you installing
anything as you always get the same message "invalid drive mapping J:\".

Also why when opening "documents" do you have 2 or more with one in the top
left corner and 2 in the bottom left corner under the heading "folders".

Hi Stevie,

Is it possible that the network drive was in a "disconnected" state at that time? If that's the case, try connecting to the J:\ drive once and test the sotware installation.
