changing the default view when opening word file in an email...

I use Win XP with MS Office 2007.

Many of the emails I receive have Word attachments. When I open these
documents, they often open in 2 page viewer option. I get that dialog/option
box that asks me if I would prefer to have them open as tradtional word docs,
I click yes, but it still happens.

This only happens when I open a doc that is attached to an email. If I
save/copy the doc into a folder then view it, it doesn't happen.

How can I turn this function off?

Thank you-

Office Button | Word Options | Popular. Clear the check box for "Open e-mail
attachments in Full Screen Reading view."

You're welcome. The wording in Word 2003 is "Allow starting in Reading
Layout," which is a little more ambiguous (no reference to attachments) and
equally easy to overlook.
