When I got my computer, the Desktop toolbar/taskbar was one line showing

Now it is 3 lines deep showing time, day and date.
How do I get it back to only one line?
Right click it, unlock it, hold the mouse over the top edge until you have
it make a double headed arrow (up and down) cursor and then drag it down
with pressing and holding the left mouse button.
