Changing password on database with customised menu

I inherited a database that has a password to open it, I need to make changes
to the database and change the password, however when I open it there is a
customised menu that is for read only viewers.

When using the normal Shift whilst opening the file, it does not work as I
get the parameter for the password first.

Is there anything that I can do?

You should be able to reset it. If you are prompted for the password type the
old password in. Before pressing enter hold the shift key again and maybe you
are lucky enough to change it via the regular way. Tools -> etc.
