Outlook 2003. Exchange Server 2003. Our domain requires users to change
their passwords every 180 days. For our network users this is no problem, as
they receive a prompt to change their password when they logon. However, for
our folks outside our LAN who only access our system for email using Outlook
connected to our Exchange Server via "RPC over HTTP," how will they know when
they need to change their passwords (other than Exchange not connecting) and
how can they effect the password change from Outlook? Thanks for any help.

They will know one of two ways. Either they get continually prompted for
their password or you figure out some way to get a task to be sent to a user
whenever they change their password.

As for changing the password, they can't through outlook. They'd have to
use OWA to do it, or VPN in to do it. See
