Changing paragraph breaks

Is it possible in Word to change a paragraph break into just a space or tab?
I have a list of hundreds of names - and I'd like the list to be one
paragraph instead of hundreds of individual lines. And eventually I'll want
to use a slash or asterisk or bullet as a seperator. Can Word do any of this,
or is there a way to do this in any other word processing application without
retyping the entire list as just a paragraph and manually inserting a hyphen
or slash between each name?

Use Edit>Replace.

Type ^p in the find field and just a space or ^t in the replace with field
