Changing Owners Configuration to Mine

I bought a used Computer with Win XP Home. The Previous
owner did not remove any information. I was able to change
the Name to Mine, however the folders with his name ie.
John J Doe are still there. Trying to delete or rename
them I get message telling me that it is part of Windows
and can not be Deleted or Renamed. Everytime I save a file
it comes up under his name. I am the Administrator now, I
did remove him as a User, this did not resolve the Problem

Can I Remove him and Start all over with a Factory
Restore. There is no disc from Compaq. Would Upgrading to
Win XP Pro resolve it by removing all old data. The
Computer works fine otherwise, but whenever I try to
register a new Program his name Comes up in the
Registration Information, even after Changing it, the
Registration comes back in his name.

Please Help. my email imbigbear69(remove)@hotmail.com
Thank You

Check on Compaq's website for tech support for your model. They must
have provided a Recovery Program, either on cd or in a partition on the
hard drive. There may be a keystroke combination that gets you into the
program (HP's, for instance, use F10). I do think the cleanest way to
make this computer your own is to put it back to factory condition. If
you need cd's, then Compaq can send them to you.

You will need to create a new profile to accomplish this. If you are
wanting to copy a majority of what is there already, follow the steps here
(if not, start anew):

To tackle the rest:
