Changing Number Formats

I imported an excel spreadsheet containing tracking numbers. When the number
were imported they display in the table in scientific notation. I have tried
to change the format by changing it to general, single, all the things the
help in Access suggested. but nothing works. What am I doing wrong?

Did they perchance get imported into a text field? If so, no amount of
messing around with numeric formats is gonna make any difference.
