I have an HP laptop running Windows XP Home edition. It came with the OS
pre-installed and with no backup installation CD. I wish to give this
laptop to a friend who speaks Spanish only and have been unable to change
the language via the "Language and Regional Options" in Control Panel.
Example is that the "Start" button should read "Inicio", etc. Someone told
me that XP must be re-installed from scratch, selecting Spanish language at
that time.

Is that correct? Can anyone verify this? Is there another way - remember
that I have no installation CD.

Thanks, Swede

Hi/Hola:

I am afraid that if you got your OS in English, you can select some option
to be regionally alocated in a Spanish language area, but the OS itself will
be in English. If you want the OS in Spanish you should reinstall a copy in
Spanish, of Windows XP.
