I have six different email account setup within my Outlook system so that I
can receive mail from various sources into one Outloook .pst file whilst at
work.

For some reason I am unable to change the account when I try to send an
email, the account drop down box does not frop down but instead give me a
message box stating...

Unable to complete the Operation. A fatal error has occurred in Outlook.

This is within a Blue message box headed Microsoft Office Word.

I have deleted MS-Office anbd re-installed and this has not had any affect.

Any suggestions are most welcome.

What version of Outlook? If you stop using Word as the editor, do you still
get the error? Is Office fully patched?

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

Find and rename the *.srs file for your profile. If that fails, rename
outcmd.dat.

I have done a search and do not have either a *.srs or a outcmd.dat file on
my system

FYI I am running Win XP Pro with SP2 applied and Outlook 2003

Windows hides some of your user profile folders from you. Change the
settings in Windows Explorer's Tools, Folder Options, View tab to show
hidden files and folders and remove the check from hide system files.
Browse to C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook or paste %USERPROFILE%\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook in the Address bar of your browser or Windows
Explorer.
