It is easy to change the default In Box in Outlook 2003, but not the default
Sent Items folder except for individual reply messages in the Message Options
dialog box. I was able to establish the InBox of my IMAP server as the
default folder when Outlook opens. How can I establish the Sent Items folder
of IMAP server as the default folder for sent items?

You don't! Outlook doesn't use the Sent items on the IMAP server for
performance reasons.

Thanks for the advice. Then I assume it would be possible to program a rule
that moves a copy of a sent message to the IMAP sent folder after it is put
into the default sent folder?

Yes, but the message will copy, not move. You'll have a copy in the Sent
Items of the Personal Folders file and a copy in the Sent Items of the IMAP
server.
