Changing default mail template

Hello, I would like to alter the default mail template to contain an
additional custom field for the sender to edit and recipient to read. Where
is the default mail template located and how can I get Outlook to use the
modified one as default? Secondly, once I've made this change, I'd like to
distribute the new default mail form to the entire company, so we all use it
as default. How would I go about doing that? Thanks in advance.

You really don't want to do this. Only another Outlook recipient would be able to do anything with it. Everyone else will get an annoying Winmail.dat attachment and will be unable to read any files you attached.

Maybe you can explain in more detail what you're really trying to accomplish.

Thanks for your response. I want to amend the default Outlook form for our
company to include one or more additional custom fields pertaining to
workflow. I wouldn't be changing the default template other than adding
these additional fields. The audience is our company, but I wasn't aware
that in non Outlook, the email couldn't be read. Any ideas how to easily and
always use a custom form when clicking New email message in Outlook?

You'd have to use the registry substitution method described at http://www.outlookcode.com/d/newdefaultform.htm . But again, I would strongly advise against this and seek another solutioin to your real business goals, whatever they are.
