Changing colors of Nav Bar buttons

When I put in a Nav bar and it's associated buttons, it shows up according
to the Theme I'm using. Is there any way to change the color of those
buttons? I notice that they are just .gif files but when I try to load the
..gif file into, say, MS Paint, it doesn't look anything like the one one the
FP screen.

Any thoughts?

Sorry, I should have said I'm using FP 2000

You need to modify (or create new images) outside of FP,
Then in FP File Import them into your web and use
Format Theme Modify Graphics to select your new images
and save as a new theme name
