Changing a Header in Multiple Documents without opening them all?

Is there any way to change a header item in all documents inside a certain
folder without opening them all?

We use multiple documents to make up a complete booklet that we print for
each project we have and the header is the only thing that changes for the
entire document many times. It is something that cannot (i don't think) be
merged into one document as the document has sections (separate files) that
are edited out on each project, so putting them all together would be more
hassle when editing the sections to be project specific.

Somehow I'm thinking DOS would do this but I'm a product of the Windows
generation... :)

Thanks.

Not without opening them all! See http://www.gmayor.com/batch_replace.htm.
It might be worth using an IncludeText or AutoText field to place the
variable header information, then you only have to change it once in future.
