How do I change the default format style in Outlook 2007 so all new message
pages come up with the format style I select.

Suggestion of going to format text>change styles>default did not work for me.
When I bring up a new message page the font size and color reverts to the
same unacceptable settings. I simply want the font to come up with 14 point
Times New Roman in dark blue. This should not be difficult but I'll be darned
if I can figure out how to make it happen.

That is something different than you asked for. Default font settings can be
changed in Tools-> Options-> tab Mail Format-> button Stationery and
Fonts...

I am also having the same problem. When I go through the steps the
default button is greyed out.
